Customer Review: Don’t expect to quickly swap out batteries
This is really a criticism of the Zumo, and not the battery. I purchased this at the same time I ordered my Zumo 550, expecting that I’d be able to charge multiple batteries and swap out batteries if one ran low. No such luck, as the Zumo’s design doesn’t allow for quick and easy battery swapping. Fortunately, it ended up being easy to wire the Zumo up to get power directly from my motorcycle’s battery.

To all owners of Garmin Zumo GPS units… If your internal battery that allows you to use your GPS while not attached to an external power source, such as your car/ bike cradle, has not failed yet. Congratulations, but, it’s just a matter of time. Be prepared for sticker shock when inquiring at Garmin for a replacement battery, however, once again, Amazon comes though saving you $$ and time by ordering on-line. This product is an excellent value and I was surprised to see it was the same genuine “Garmin Product” at a great savings.

Customer Review: Does the job
Nice fit for Zumo, keeps it from getting scratched up. Only point to make it better is to design some kind of storage area for power adapters or other accessories. Make sure if you are buying a zumo that you don’t order a separate carrying case, I bought a new zumo and ordered a carrying case so I got two cases. I will read more closely next time.

Product arrived on-time. Excellent price on Amazon (through Warehouse Deals versus current market price). Fairly easy to install. Have used on aggressive mountain bike trails (mounting method is solid) and on the road. Have also used it to navigate with - this is not going to give you Car GPS functionality. Any route you want to follow you will need to pre-load and use BikeRouteToaster or other application to make a .crs file - some fiddling required - the result is a black line you will need to follow (no map / other roads shown). I used it for Bike to Work week and followed a route through the center of Baltimore on quiet back streets - no problem - 1st time I used the unit out of the box. Happy so far.
Customer Review: The perfect bike computer for gadget freaks!
I returned to cycling after a 20-year hiatus last year. Being a dyed-in-the-wool sucker for gadgets, I had to get the Garmin 305 as my bike computer. Cyclist friends of mine made fun of its size, made fun of my desire to map my rides afterward, and generally mocked the device. I ignored them, and I’m glad I did.
